Description:
Spend a day immersed in the beautiful woodland at Holt Hall learning traditional and modern bushcraft skills. The Fire Craft course has been designed to give participants a solid foundation in fire lighting and management and is appropriate for all those wanting to develop their knowledge and skills.
Over the day you will:
- Develop knowledge and understanding of different fire lighting methods (both traditional and modern).
- Develop understanding of natural and man-made tinders, including making charcloth.
- Learn how to manage campfires, including using different shaped fires for different purposes.
- Use different campfire cooking methods, including pot hangers.
- Develop understanding of sustainable use of natural areas.
- Take away free resources.
The workshop is appropriate for beginners and anyone wishing to increase their skills, knowledge and understanding in this elemental subject. The day is fully hands-on – you will get the opportunity to try all techniques demonstrated!
